Lets face it. For most people Valentines day is simply an over commercialized way to squeeze a years worth of indifference into one much more time effective lump of adoration.
It might be better to call it Guilty complex day or lazy bastards love day.
Ok so perhaps im being a little cynical. After all it can be quite fun if you really make an effort, but I thought, rather than just ignoring the occasion, as Bess and I usually do, how about making it REALLY about love.
A day to start breaking out of our old boxes and stepping into the life truly love. The one we keep putting off.
Living what you love may seem hard, but as I have seen on this journey from talking to so many people who are doing just that. It’s actually much easier than most people think.
The biggest problem seems to be seeing how it can even be possible. The logistics and the possible negative consequences are always so enormous that we usually end up hurriedly crawling back under our rock.
The problem is we just cant see solutions.
Now there is a BIG reason for this…….Simply we don’t have the neural connections required to do so. In other words our brain literally does not have the info it needs to be able to plot a path to safety.
It would be like someone asking you how to get across a strange city – Without a map you’de be totally lost. And that’s why it seems so scary. We have no map!
So how do we rectify this and start living what you love
Well there is no map of life, and this is why so much emphasis is put on the concept of ‘FAITH’ . but there is a more scientific way (and i find reassuring) way of looking at this.
Im sure you have heard the old saying ‘there are things you know you know, things you know you don’t know – but there are many more things you don’t even know you don’t know’
This ‘mantra’ reminds me that while I can’t see a path or solution there almost certainly is one. Like a flash light, each time you take a step it illuminates a whole new area you had no idea existed.
And since ‘I cant know what I don’t know’ all the speculation, worry and procrastination that seems so logical and well thought out, is actually TOTALLY ERRONEOUS & POINTLESS.
2 The other comforting thing so many of the wise people we have met have reminded me is, when you DO take that FULL step into the unkonwn (not just pussy footing around the outskirts), you INSTANTLY start to rewire your brain altering its connections, perception and understanding. Allowing you to SEE, paths, ideas, opportunities and solutions that did not even EXIST to you before.
And this changes the whole energy and dynamic of the situation. Making it easier and easier to take the next one and the next one and the next.
This has been one of the greatest gifts of this trip for me – Taking the concept of faith (something i thought was an airy fairy idea, and realising it is based STONE COLD PROVABLE SCIENCE. It makes leaping over the cliffs of life so much easier, exciting and enjoyable.
I hope the lessons we learn help you as much as they do us .
Ohh yes and this Valentines day “WE LOVE YOU”SE ALL ;-) (thanks Jeff Fenech for that classic)

Can’t agree with you more on Valentines, it does seem pointless unless your selling products for the day. But strangly enough it really beautifull receiving flowers and cards from those you love. It’s a warm positive feeling. Oddly the reverse is experienced if the one who gives you the guift is not liked or wanted.
Perhaps we could go back to the drawing board with Valentines and start again, maybe you can’t give a gift unless the person your giveing it to likes you. But than how would you know, unless your already friends and of course there goes the original point of Valentines, to tell someone you don’t know that you like them.
Mmmmmmmmm me thinks this needs some work. Tee Hee

Sometimes we don’t believe we have faith, or maybe we just have faith in the wrong things…….what else would you call travelling through the night at 100 kph only being able to see a couple of hundred metres in front of you? We do it all the time, driving in our car, and we have faith that we are going to make it to our destination.
Not sure if this concept came from ‘ The Law of Attraction.’ Esther and Jerry Hicks. Or Wayne Dyer
