I think it's easier if you are in a spot where you can see people who are desperately in need. My parents were missionaries, most of my friends are humanitarians and so I get to see and hear some pretty sad stories of families struggling just to get the simple things that we often take for granted... like food, clean drinking water and good health. As Geoff says, it's all about perspective. x

I love the idea of being free, my husband came froma a family of hoarders as did I.
We had too much stuff collected, I have spent the last couple of years clearing out our clutter selling on oztion (free to list there low fees when item is sold)or ebay(when they have free listing days of course)
Unfortunately I'm not in the finacial position to just give stuff away,(although have donated many things over the years) but love the idea of doing so.
I've also been able to get my husband to let go of things.
Now I'm trying to work on my son who also has hoarding tendancies and a heap of old toys he no longer plays with.
You have been an insperation to many I'm sure to simplify life.
All the best

Wow - now this is a post that EVERYONE needs to read!!!

My wife & I vibrationally align our home regularly & so anything with stuck energy or that triggers a "I have to keep it - but don't know why" means to us that it has to go. Ok we didn't throw out everything like B & G but we released all the old energy that was keeping us stuck. (I even threw out my old teddy bear that my mum gave me - she gave it to me when I was single "So I wouldnt be lonely" - now that I have been happily married for 3 years - I'm ok throwing it out (we actually donated it).

If you hold somethin & it feels good - keep it,
If you hold something & it feels bad - get rid of it with gratitude for the service it provided to you thus far.

We even canceled our phone contracts, got rid of the credit cards & even our Internet is monthly - how - I demanded a month by month - the company offered a 12 month & I refused. They agreed & I am a happy customer.
