Woke up this morning to a stunning view. I really do love the mountains.

With my new mountain man beard I fit right in.

Today we will trundle slowly into Katoomba before heading back to Winnebago home base in Emu Plains.

ASTRA_54GREAT WORK

One of our Life Change followers took some initiative to help a friend with motor Neuron Disease. Last weekend they had a fund raiser and auctioned a number of items including Bessies favorite Morrisy dresses and matching bag and shoes.

We love hearing that other people are making the most of the stuff we gave away

FACES IN THE ROCK – & – BIRTHDAY SONG 300 ft underground

BlueBells had 85 people sing happy birthday to her in the ‘Cathedral’ in Jenolan. It’s a natural giant cavern hundreds of feet under solid rock. With stalactites hanging like organ pipes, and others lit like stain glass windows. It truly is spectacular.

The Jenolan caves are really STUNNING!! If you have not seen them you must. We had a fantastic time.

Of course looking at 350 million year old rocks that were once a coral reef, folded in half and buried under a mountain gives you an awesome perspective on the trivial microscopic time span of our own lives.

One of the fascinating insights I had was how easy it was to see ‘form’ in these random rock structures

All around you could see familiar objects in the stone. The guides had given them names like the face of a sleeping giant, The Bishop and 3 sisters, Organ pipes, the meat locker, fried eggs, mini city, Persian room and lotts wife.

Making order out of random rock and chaos, like seeing ‘shapes in the clouds’ & ‘monsters in the dark is something us humans do with incredible ease.

I wondered how much of our lives were colored by this process. Seeing fear and negativity where there is none and holding onto comfort and securities that really don’t exist.

Anyway it made me think perhaps it was time to look at things I believed a bout myself and my life and just how much my ‘meaning machine’ might be running amuck
