DSC00338054Went to watch ‘mummy’ in the botanic gardens shooting the wedding show yesterday. And jumping out of a helicopter.

Don’t think the sound man was too impressed. BlueBelle is certainly learning to make her point. Don’t know who she gets that from.

new-2Tashas Hope For Sight

Thanks to the ‘Life Changer’ who put us in touch with Tasha. A little girl from the Hunter Valley area who lost her sight at an early age and is now raising funds to go to China and receive a cutting edge treatment to restore her sight.

Hopefully The Life Change Experiment will be able to make things a little easier along the way. If you have a way of helping via donation or anything else please contact them. The family have been incredibly proactive and tireless in helping to make this little girls dream come true, and deserve a break!

GREAT RESPONSE

What a fantastic response to our ‘What do you wish you had know at 18’ post – They are quite enlightening. In fact I have turned it into a main post so we can add to it over time.

xs08-01-17_money8NAME THAT ILLUSION

You may not have thought of it like this, but an enormous amount of the world we take for granted is based on illusions I like to call ‘sand castles’.

When enough people ‘give power’ to an idea by buying into it, an ‘illusion’ starts to feel real.

Take money for example. Is $100 worth $100.

Technically it’s a piece of paper worth a few cents. Only if you are dealing with someone who AGREES with its worth does it have value.

Try giving it to a native on a desert island. He would have no reference to its ‘agreed’ value. What can he do with a piece of paper other than light a fire with it.

Since many of the ‘sand castles’ we build cause us much heartache, sweat, worry and pain, and often prevent us from seeing whats ‘real’ in our lives. I thought it would be a fun exercise to expose a few.

Of course this can be a scary, since many of us have our foundations built on these sandcastles like  money, credit cards, social order, the power of ‘us’ and the fear of ‘them’, etc

But underneath all this unstable illusion, just waiting to be blown away or eroded over time, is the true foundations of life. Something that can’t be shaken, blown down or or taken away from us.

I think that’s worth finding out don’t you.

NOTE: Of course many of these ‘illusions’ stand to maintain society and its structure. But seeing them for what they are empowers us when we are dealing with the system

DEFINITION: – So a ‘sandcastle’ is an idea or thing that needs a group of people to ‘agree’ upon to make it so.

POST YOUR SANDCASTLES BELOW and lets see what we have left.
