Bluebelle_Bath250x150Daily Update: 27th October

After a stressful start to our hunter valley stay, Ok so we are not yet ‘au fait’ with this traveler thing. We literally ran into the hunter valley Big 4 camping site.

It’s a lovely spot and they were kind enough to let us in, in the middle of the night. They also make their own wine from the grapes they grow around the campsite which is kinda cool.

So once settled we decided to make the most of the hunter experience and went for a tour of, where else but, HOPE winery.

The head Semillon took us around and gave us a chance to mix our own wines. Bessie’s blend was voted the best mix but I beg toGeoff_bessie_bluebelle differ haha.

One of the reasons we chose Hope wines was that Michael Hope made a real life change some years ago that many would envy.

From the life of a stressed, bored pharmacist in the city he decided he’d had enough and followed his dream to create his own winery.

Now he runs one of hunters most up and coming vineyards that puts on some stellar concerts from the biggest acts in the world including The Who, Eric Clapton and Fleetwood Mac .

His attitude was very much ‘I don’t want to die without knowing what if!’ I must say that is similar to my thinking. What if I gave that idea a shot! After all, what we have to lose is often a lot less than we think, and the upsides to our personal growth can be huge

Bess has to go back to the city in a day or two to meet some contractual obligations so we are going to make the most of the R n R out here

Ollie cooked up a storm tonight with a risotto made from some local wine and cheese . Gotta love that and Bluebelle had her first bath in the Winnebago sink.
