Kangaroo Valley_1

What a BEAUTIFUL part of Australia this is! I had no idea it existed!

Lots of folks honking their horns and waving on the way here meant either something was falling of the Winnebago, or they saw us on the show and were saying hello.

Met the Ambo drives who we gave the TV to in Bulli. They were so kind and showed us around their station. They also gave us some great tips on the VERY precarious roads into Kangaroo Valley.

Met another lovely lady who emailed us and asked us to stop by in Woolongong. She had lost everything in 6821_195350359987_148424474987_3991568_8166642_aa fire and was writing a book called ‘How can I help’. She had cooked us the most amazing green bean soup and gooseberry pastries. All grown in her garden .

It really is amazing stepping out of the insular city attitude where you don’t make eye contact and are to busy to stop and chat, to finding people welcoming total strangers into their house and cooking them dinner.

The roads down here were wild. Windy like you can’t believe which was fun with a 31 ft Winnebago. Still it made it admirably even if I was a little tense at the end.

Kangaroo Valley_2Ollie announced he had forgotten the tent pegs so after much embarrassment I had mercy and rigged their tent up under our awning.

Waking up this morning in Kangaroo Valley made it all worth while – mist and animals squawking everywhere. It is truly lovely.

The folk festival comes to town tomorrow so we are on the hunt for interesting people to talk to about life change and making the most of it.

Emails and phones are giving us grief but I see that as a sign to get with the program and ‘let go’ a little more than feels comfortable.

Enjoy the pix
